BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Alison Bixby was born and raised in Princeton, NJ, USA. She graduated with a BA in Fine Arts/Photography from Haverford College in Haverford, PA. Since earning her Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography and Related Media at the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1994, Alison has worked at creative companies such as a television network, a stock photography agency, an art museum, and a publisher. In 1999, after ten years in New York, the artist moved to Chicago, IL, where she sells real estate and continues her series of color photographs entitled Signs of Life in America.

Ms. Bixby has exhibited her photographs in solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. She was selected to participate in the CITY 2000 documentary project in Chicago and has received two photography grants from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. Alison’s photographs have appeared in publications including a Special Collector’s Issue of National Geographic Traveler and the New York City version of Guest Informant.
